I should admitted 分别心 is the reality at the begining, but time will cure it (your attachment will grow with time).
My son (3.5yrs old) is very happy to have her (1.5 yrs old). In that sense, you are doing goods for your sons, too.
As for their future, we will let them to decide (it is another reality that parents do not have much control for children's fututere in USA, although you can try to influence them to some extent).
