Shanghai Mayor to Become Anhui Province Secretary, Post Says

Nov. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng will leave his post in the city and become Communist Party secretary in Anhui province, the South China Morning Post reported, citing unidentified sources.
The move is part of a government reshuffle and comes after Shanghai's former party chief Chen Liangyu was fired last year for corruption, the newspaper reported.
Han wasn't involved in the scandal but central leaders believe he should have acted quicker to stop abuse of the city's pension fund, the newspaper cited the sources as saying.
Han is originally from Zhejiang, China, and became mayor in 2003, the newspaper said.
