2. if you're asked if you would go back there if given an offer, say you like the interviewer's company better for such and such reason (you know the spiel). direct the conversation to how much you like the interviewer's company.
3. for the question why you didn't get an offer, blame the subprime crisis. don't offer any political details. as an intern, you don't really know the truth anyway.
