温市，at that time one US$ = 1.3 Canadian. I went to Stanley Park area and Richmond but could not make my mind. Instead, I went to Shanghai and spent money there. 说到底，还是底气不足。 I didn't plan to buy for rental income but for vacation condo. But in Canada the carrying cost for a condo, no matter you live there or not, is not cheap; while in Shanghai, the total carrying cost is lot lower than Canada but the appreciation rate is the same as, if not higher than, Canada. Plus, Shanghai is my native town, on the other hand I have no feelings toward Canada. Per my son's remarks after he visited Vancouvour and Toronto, Canadians are American juniors. Mr. Green

The whole economy in Canada has been boosted by the higher prices of the commodities and the natural resources, somewhat just like what Russia has been enjoying for several years as a 资源大国。However, this trend will not continue foreveer and the prices of the commodities will go down when the global economic pace slows down. Then Canada has very limited high value-added products or services to sell. So, in my humble opinion the real estate prices in Canada in general, Vancouvour in particular, are in the late stage of bubble. How much average Canadian household earns each year?
On the other hand, right now and in 2008 there will be many good deals available in the USA housing markets. Always buy low and sell high; it is more risky to buy high and sell higher. Mr. Green
