I may need many dates to determine whether I want to marry a woman, I sure don't need wait until the second date to know whether I want to sleep with one.
The number of dates does not improve our intuition, which in this case is usually more accurate than our judegement is. It merely improves our chances since some women hold true to the societal belief that a girl have to wait until date number x to sleep with a guy.
