Parallel parking today
This morning, my loyal alarm clock buzzed at exactly 9am as usual. I opened my eyes half way and took a glance at the clock on the wall. "Oh, 9 o'clock, let me sleep for another 5 minutes", I murmured and curled myself with eyes quickly closed. Just like what happens to many graduate students, the next time I opened my eyes, my butt was being exposed to the noon sunshine.
"Oh, man, it happens again", I started to feel guilty.
At an almost incredible speed, I got myself dressed and rushed into the bathroom.
Life is full of options.
Now I have two choices, either take the bus or drive to school.
Let me explain that a little bit.
I don't have an compus parking permit.
So I usually park my car on street if I drive to school.
The on-street parking is free but has a time limit.
Those diligent parking enforcement patrols usually stop chalking the tires after noon. So it's basically safe to park on those streets in the afternoon without bothering to move the car.
Let's cut the crap and move straight to today's topic.
Don't wanna make you lose your patience in reading my post.
So I chose to drive by myself and park my car on street.
The streets were so packed with all kinds of cars because it's already noon and everybody knows the trick. Really hard to find a spot, but be patient. Suddenly I spotted a vacancy between two cars.
After an abrupt U turn, I stopped my car right at it.
It was really a tiny space. However, I managed to push my car in.
There was a 10cm space between my car and the car behind it and 20cm distance between my car and the car in front of it. Really close, isn't it? I don't know how I did it. But I did it.
Really proud of it, hehe. I'd be happy to discuss parallel parking skills with people who are interested.
