against racial discrimination. In that sense, blacks did more good for the colored people than Chinese, Koreans, Japanese combined.

Every where in the world, people respect power. Being able to stand up against prejudice shows power and that gains respect.

Chinese worked very hard in the US, from hundred of years ago while they build the transcontinental railroad. Thousands died. And yet, even until today, Chinese has vitually no political cloud shows that work, even money gets only so far.

Here is a bit background information written by a middle school teacher which I think has good facts and analysis on this issue.
