Work with Product Planning, Redmond teams and local team (PM, developer, tester) to design and implement the features and/or components which match the China, East Asia and worldwide market and customer needs. Work with Redmond and local Office team with globalization and release of Chinese Office products.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Interact with product planning and marketing to gather relevant data, customer wishes, product and feature requests. Identify technical and feature potential issues/opportunities for the China, East Asia and Worldwide markets.
• Identify specific technology and/or features and dev and possibly business models sometimes which could have impact to driving Office feature usage and even business directly.
• Collaborate with HQ and local product team (PM, Developer, planners) on feature design, feasibility study, innovative integrations (on top of Office), implementation and testing.
• Write the feature design spec, articulate with architecture design and prototype/storyboard building for presentation and communication
• Collect, provide, and support major user needs during the design process , ensuring sales/marketing perspectives are considered;
• Work with Redmond and local Office team with Office localization/globalization and release ensuring quality control and process management.
. Work with Redmond PM to collaborate on Chinese needs on feature design including reading spec and giving feedbacks Review and analyze competitive products that have specific features well suited for the local market, evaluate the market threats and come up with competitive strategy and proposals
Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong strategic planning and execution skills
• Strong organizational, negotiation and persuasive skills
• Strong customer-focused for feature design and project management skills
• Sound knowledge of the software development process and cycle
• Strong knowledge of/experience with Microsoft Windows family operating systems and Microsoft desktop applications.
• Good knowledge about the localization process, especially localization, localizability and globalization issues.
• Desirable - appropriate programming skills in a common programming and/or scripting language
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years experience in the computer industry - software development, or project management.
• Language fluency in both Chinese (preferred) and English, including written and spoken.
• Deep and Good knowledge of market IT conditions, requirements and trends
• Good knowledge of market competitor products
