Key Responsibilities
• Logical database design including database objects definition with Oracle specific constructs
• Procedural development using Oracle PL/SQL
• Database tuning for performance and space optimisation
• Understanding the scope of work and estimate the work at database end
• Support for database integration with front-end J2EE based applications and reporting tools
• Lead the implementation of a small size project independently
• Create Unix scripts for the scheduling of batch jobs

Experience and Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Oracle 9i/10g
• Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle specific database constructs
• Understanding UML modelling concepts
• Ability to work in both Windows and UNIX platforms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong team leader
• Working knowledge of Unix Shell scripts

Desirable Qualifications:
• Oracle physical DBA including tuning of Oracle instance
• Experience & good understanding of full development life cycle.
• Some exposure to distributed object technology & J2EE
• Experience in the use of a source control management system.
• Certification in Oracle will be an added advantage

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong team player
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
• The successful candidate must be highly motivated, fast learner, flexible, willing to assume responsibility, and deliver quality work on time
