Senior Product Manager – Beijing/Shanghai/Taipei

Do you have a passion for creating great products? Google is looking for individuals who combine a great instinct for developing compelling products with the technical aptitude to work with a world class engineering team and the business sense to drive local product goals and strategies.

Department Overview: The Product Development team ensures that Google has the best worldwide product offerings by analyzing, positioning, packaging, and promoting our solutions across a variety of countries and markets where Google does business. The team is responsible for the product throughout the execution cycle, and works closely with the engineering group to continuously improve systems, processes, and production.

Major functions:
• Initiate new products and product enhancements to meet existing or anticipated market needs
• Determine product specifications and document in a Product Requirements Document (PRD)
• Initiate and prioritize projects within engineering; track product development; develop product launch plans
• Engage closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable execution schedule
• Work with a cross-functional internal team (e.g. sales, client services, marketing, legal, etc.) to gather customer feedback and ensure smooth and successful launches
• Establish short and long term product goals and strategies

Experience / Skills:
• Computer science degree or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience shipping products (concept to launch)
• Strong understanding of user needs in China and an innovative history of addressing them
• Market knowledge of Internet-related industries

Department Overview:

The Partner Services and Operations team provides comprehensive technical solutions and services to Google's largest partners. The team helps strategic partners' revenue growth and business expansion by being responsible for day-to-day technical and business operations issues including the successful implementation of Google's products and services.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer with excellent communication skills to handle pre-sales accounts for Search Services. You will work directly with Sales to prepare demos, answer questions, and launch customers. Your role will allow you to engage directly with customers on both technical and non- technical levels to ensure superior service as well as interact directly with key engineering support personnel to resolve issues. You should be a confident presenter with excellent verbal skills and be able to prepare and present material to customers on features and products. In addition, you need to feel at home working closely with both our engineering and sales teams.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical major.
• 5+ years of technical sales or field sales experience.
• Previous software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of selling solutions to corporations.
• HTML, XML, and scripting programming experience.
• Experience leading a high performance team.
• Strong experience with web technologies.
• Experience working with external clients.
• Experience working in UNIX and Windows environments.
• Ability to work independently.

Partner Services and Operations Team needs high-caliber Technical Account Managers to manage and expand both strategic and technical relationships with our global partners. Working with the best-of-the-best, world class organizations and Fortune 500 companies should be second nature. Your superior project and account management skills, excellent business judgment, and technical expertise will make Google partners successful. Your hard work and contributions will directly impact Google partner network success.

In-depth technical knowledge on a wide range of Google services and products is a first step of a successful Technical Account Manager. In addition, working closely with partner managers and sales directors on upsell strategies, helping drive new business opportunities, and maximizing the monetization of all of Google services will be other responsibilities. The ability to take complete ownership of the technical relationship with partners from technical implementation to on-going technology communication is required. Other responsibilities are acting as a liaison between partners and Google Product Management team to ensure follow-up on technical communications. Providing constructive feedback to product managers helps improve product/service.

Assisting partners implement and launch new services and products help Google partners be successful. To enhance Google partner success, performing technical reviews, performance optimizations will continually be needed. Requirements:
• Minimum of a BA/BS Computer Science or related technical degree required.
• 5+ years experience in technical project management, program management, or professional services.
• 3+ years of internet architecture and software development experience.
• Strong understanding of XML, HTML, JavaScript and Internet protocols.
• Solid understanding of UNIX/Linux.
• Broad technical knowledge of Internet products and technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent project management skills and attention to details.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, negotiation, and influence skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Chinese and English.
