I have some real questions on establishing a hedge fund.
I have thought of this for a while. I have friends in the area that have told me if a fund is less than $50M in US, you won't be able to make profits due to the operating costs, ie. accoutant, legal, and adminstrative fees. Do you use a turnkey company setup your fund and how long took you set up the fund from the date you seriously started?
Do you put most of your own money in the fund? This is kind delimma for me. I am confident on having good returns due to some proprietary skills I had; but you know, the old saying goes: don't put all eggs in one basket. In addition, if you don't put your own money, how convincing you can sell your fund to others?
Your experienced advice and story are appreciated.
