10 years ago, I came to the U.S. with $3000 to study. Now, I am 35 years old, with family including 2 girls, one 6-year the other 4-year, living peacefully in a mid-west city. I am currently working for a big bank/mortgage company with around $70K salary.
I have always been trying to go back to China. However, I am struggling between family and career/life. Returning to China will largely mean that I have to divorce my wife, since she is a hard-core opponent against me returning. Staying in the U.S. is suicidal to me.
My background:
- graduated from Insitute of International Studies in Nanjing, majoring International Relations and English.
- Worked for 4 years in Beijing in the General Staffs Department of the army before came to the U.S.
- Acquired MS in Computer & Information Systems from a U.S. university in 1999；
- Since 1998, have worked for about 9 different U.S. organizations on IT projects, such companies include IBM, MCI, AMDOCS, etc.
- Acquired MBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 2003
- Started own importing and distribution business in 2003. Company is expected to have sales for about $300k this year (gross profit about 100%). My wife is taking care of this business full-time.
- Became U.S. citizen earlier this year.
- PMP certificate
I always feel that I am not destined to be staying in the U.S. If there is a good opportunities in China that starts around RMB 500K, I would definitely go back. Any suggestions or advices?
