NACSA High-tech Industry Tour Delegation Trip Date: December 11, 2004 to December 26, 2004 Destination: Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xian Objective: • Create channels for US entrepreneurs/business executives to have direct dialogues with high-level business executives and government officials in China to discuss career, business and investment opportunities • Provide a forum to exchange information about industry standard, trend and policies • Build long-lasting personal and professional relationship both across the Pacific as well among the delegation members Tentative Program: • Face-to-face meetings with industry leaders, high-tech company executives, potential investors and government policy-makers • Focus group technical seminars and conferences • Site visit to major Chinese high-tech companies Who should apply: High-tech company executives/entrepreneurs who: • have genuine interest/business need to undertake China-related projects • currently seeking opportunity to tap into the vast resources in China whether it is for funding, product development, business development, or marketing • want to learn more about the industry standard setting, latest trend, government policy in specific high-tech areas Applicant Qualification: • Stay with the group and attend the FULL PROGRAM (the entire trip) • Submission of a brief bio and project description, as well as intended business collaboration with China • At least Master’s degree • At least 10 years work experience (exceptions are made on a case by case basis depending on the merit of the project) • English or Chinese speaking • Ability to obtain visa to enter China and re-entry to US
Application Procedures: 1: Submit a two-page executive summary of the project that you would like to bring to China. Project can be seeking investment and/or collaboration. Projects from IC design, software, semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, networking and wireless technologies are preferred. All other high-tech sectors are also encouraged to apply. 2: The project summary and application will be reviewed by NACSA’s China Trip working committee consisting industry experts and NACSA’s Board members. A total of 15 projects will be selected to be included in the China Trip. Click here to download application form. Application Deadline: November 19, 2004 Selected applicant will be notified 2 days after the 11/19/04 deadline. Selection decision is made on a first-come-first-served basis weighing the merits of the project and credential and experience of the project owner. You are strongly encouraged to send in your completed application package early.
