Rich Kinder is former Enron CEO who left in 1996 and
created KMI in 1999, who claimed "When we started [Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, or KMP], it had an enterprise value of $300 million, $150 million equity and $150 million debt. Today, the total enterprise value of KMP is about $13 billion. KMI's total enterprise value is about $11 billion."
A check on the stock price showed KMI with a market cap
of $7 billion and only a three-fold increase from early 99
till now.
