US retreating from global power center
strong opponent rising (USSR and China)
prior weak economy/big recession
The only difference is inflation of the 2 periods are different.
Gold and oil could have a climax run from here. say oil surging to 2,000 in 3 months and oil surging to 180 in 3 months.
