Position: EHS Engineer
Job Description:
The EHS Specialist must secure the EHS-awareness all the way through projects, and will in this way have great influence the entire project from the proposal phase to final handover.
- In close cooperation with Contractor, Client Project Management and XXX Pharmaplan Project Manager secure EHS during construction and commissioning phases, this includes:
Secure alignment of EHS requirements between XXX EHS organisation and Client EHS organisation.
Work out and maintain EHS plan stating all measures to be taken during the construction phase in order to maintain the demanded level of: site safety, health and environmental protection.
With reference to EHS plan initiate and plan necessary actions on site to fulfil requirements in the plan. (e.g. safety introduction, check of electrical tools)
Follow up on all stakeholders on site (Client, EPCM, Contractors). During daily inspections on site secure that all EHS requirements are met and no rules are broken.
Intervene in all potential dangerous situation on site, report the incident and work out procedures to avoid similar future incidents
In case of breach of site regulation report the incidents to Project Manager and recommend sanctions.
Tool box meetings, daily site awareness meetings and weekly safety meetings.
Train and advice person on EHS regulations, assessments, and process activated.
Review/recommend resources(S), personal protective equipment (PPE). And expendable supplies needed by the project/facility to ensure the safety and health of the worker, the public, and/or the environment.
Coordinate and track project team personal medical surveillance and training qualifications.
Promote the “Zero Accident” philosophy.
Develop the overall NP EHS documents and procedures.
- Give EHS-relevant input to Sales department during proposal phase of a project.
- Assist engineering team in EHS evaluation of potential Contractors during the tendering Phase.
- Advice engineering team in EHS specific issues during engineering phases.
Qualification:
• Be fluent in oral and written English.
• Be fluent in oral and written Chinese.
• PC on user level.
• Have good communicating skills, both verbal and in writing.
• Minimum 5 years’ of EHS employment with 2-3 years’ site experience.
• Know high international level of EHS, but be able to adapt to required level of EHS.
• Have knowledge of pharma and biotech could be preferred.
• Familiar with Chinese codes for EHS.
• Be able to carry out sanctions in case of breach of defined rules.
• Keep contact to all stakeholders of the project and thus secure mutual cooperation.
• The qualified register safety engineer is preference.
