Define information architecture strategy, data models and structures for team, guiding and overseeing the design and implementation of the strategy though numerous projects by taking a hands on approach.
Define pragmatic solution architectures for team projects documenting them in PIA's and technical notes, working through the normal RPD project process and engaging technical governance when necessary.
Become a member of the architecture team, providing architectural solutions for system enhancements and extensions, with a specialisation in information architecture. Participate in global teams. Occasional travel will be required, and a flexable approach to working hours needed to permit communication across time zones.
Act as a contact point and gateway to other Company technologists, keeping abreast of the enterprise information strategy and identifying the impact and approach required within the team domain.
Working with performance technologists to refine data structures and models to deliver improved system performance and scalability.

Education:
degree educated
Required Skills (Must have), Necessary industry experience and associated number of years of experience:
7 - 10+ years professional experiance in multiple development and architectural areas (application engineering, software architecture, networking, etc)
Abilities:
- Critical importance is the ability to bridge the gap between business needs/direction and the possibilities and constraints surrounding technical implementation. Able to bring experience and innovative thinking to this area.
- Ability to lead through influence, managing and facilitating change.
- Ability to work as part of a number of global project teams providing key technical direction around both Information Architecture and Solution Architecture
- Ability to think conceptually, and pragmatically to determine feasible solutions for implementation
- Ability to analyse, visualise, abstract and communicate complex interdependent concepts
- Ability to act as a mentor and advocate of data modelling and management methodologies and data processing best practise
Talents:
- Self motivated and driven, able to work both independently and in collaboration with other technologists at all levels
- Comfortable working day to day with colleagues in other time zones and locations using a number of tools (email, phone, instant messenger, webex, etc)
Skills:
- Fluent in English, both written and speaking
- Excellent communication skills, especially across cultures and language barriers. Ability to translate complex concepts an communicate in terms understandable to technical and non-technical staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills to resolve problems in a professional manner, lead groups, negotiate and create consensus.
- Strong analytical and architectural skills, ability to manage complexity and to simplify for explanation to others
- Data architecture and Product experience at solution and enterprise level
- Solution architecture skills, with the ability to define cohesive solution architectures
- Analysis and modelling skills, with a background as a practitioner.
- Practical experience of interface design, information architecture and solution architecture with large scale systems
- Broad understanding of issues with handling information on a very large scale
- Practical experience with the following technologies: Web Services (SOAP, xml, WSDL), J2EE, WebSphere, Windows, C++
Prerequisites:
- Knowledge of financial markets and of TRM products is highly desirable
- Experience of working in a company whose product is information (rather than a BI/MIS background) is preferred
