Position Sought: Government Relations Manager
Location: Shenzhen

The Government Relations Manager will be required to provide the client Greater China BU and their Government Relations team with excellent legislative and regulatory advocacy at HK/TW/Macau government levels focused on our client’s key issues in the electronic commerce, online data transmitting, and data privacy areas, among others.
Responsibilities Include:
• Lobby on our client’s behalf and execute their strategic GR plans with respect to all issues;
• Manage external government relations consultants as necessary;
• Monitor legislative and administrative initiatives impacting our client throughout HK/TW/Macau at all levels of government;
• Participate in national and local industry associations;
• Contribute to public policy position papers and other pertinent content for distribution and publication;
• Establish and maintain relationships with key government officials;
• Coordinate with internal teams on cross-functional projects;
• Coordinate with internal regulatory teams to ensure our client is compliant with relevant national laws and regulations;
Candidate Qualifications Include:
• 6-10 years extensive experience in PR,GR, public policy and regulatory processes;
• Successful experience dealing with HK/TW government agencies, OGCIO, Taitra, HKTDC,FHKI and other government authorities and regulators;
• Good understanding of how government hierarchy works; good connections with relevant government agencies preferred
• Experience in formulating both a proactive and reactive government relations strategy;
• Strong “team-oriented” work ethic and ability to make significant contributions on major projects outside scope of day-to-day duties;
• A self-starter with enormous flexibility; be able to consistently exercise sound judgment; significant degree of self-motivation; be very resourceful and ability to work with minimal direct supervision;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressurized environment;
• Ability to respond effectively, quickly and decisively;
• Excellent written, verbal and communications skills;
• Good English reading and writing skill required, spoken skill is a plus.
• Good sense of humor.
• Undergraduate degree required, post graduate level studies favorable.
