Scope
• Contacts with buyers from several national headquarters and regional subsidiaries.
• The Key Account Manager will act in line with the yearly global account plan.
• Private label propositions must fit in our client’s product management strategy
Goals of the position
1. To realise the agreed marketing & sales plan
1.1. To negotiate product, price, promotions and terms & conditions with the DMU’s;
1.2. To actively inspire the buyers with information about existing and new product opportunities for private label promotions or even regular supply
2. To specify commercial proposals in such a way that Back Office can efficiently prepare purchasing orders and Logistics is able to ensure timely delivery
3. To ensure that agreements with the account are kept; sometimes involvement in the internal organization is required to ensure that the job gets done
4. To seek feedback regarding commercial proposals in order to learn from missed orders
Performance (indicators)
1. Short term:
Turn over and margin per product category / region
2. Operational:
Conversion rate of commercial negotiations
Timeliness and accuracy of commercial proposals
Negotiation of reasonably achievable delivery due dates
Quality of specification of customer requirements (after which Operations can efficiently ensure delivery against the lowest possible cost)
3. Longer term:
Contribution to the positioning of the private labels in relation to the Ferm brand and other brands in the region
Development of a long term business relation with the account(s)
Ideal candidate
• Bachelor’s level or equivalent
• Successful experience in key account management, during at least 5 years
• Extremely pro-active attitude regarding future customer requirements, creative in developing promotions
• Preferably experience in the power tool industry and private labelling
• Preferably experience with direct business with large customers like MGB, OBI, SEARS, Kingfisher, and so on
• Drive to build a long term relation with the account(s) at all levels
• Drive to make it happen, getting things done, feels challenged by stretched targets
• Perceives further increase of the company’s professionalism as a personal challenge
