Our client, a leading lighting manufacturers in Europe, is seeking for Technical Engineer to join their production and purchase teams in Nansha (Guang Dong province), China.
SUMMARY
Provide services technical and mechanical engineering in the lighting industry.
Responsible for entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost and equipment selection.
Conduct surveys to gather field data.
Prepare and interpret schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids.
Prepare technical specifications.
Perform Mechanical engineering duties surrounding the following; mechanical devices, materials handling, machine tools automated manufacturing equipment,
Manage project issues, budgets, and schedules.
Review and critique proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details.
Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices.
Coordinate the activities of the design and assembly teams.
Designing and implementing cost-effective modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput;
Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from the HQ in Belgium
Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs;
Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments in China and Belgium, suppliers in China and Belgium
Making sure a product can be made again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments;
Planning and designing new production processes;
Recommending modifications following prototype test results;
Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints;
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical presentations to the HQ and the China Plant,
Provide on-the-job training to new staff.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
At least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Technical or Mechanical Engineering and three to five years of engineering experience in the lighting industry.
Work requires travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections both in Headquarter and China.
Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and to travel frequently.
Fluent English and Mandarin required
