Even White House lost value during market slump, drops 5.1 percent in 2009

Among the masses of homeowners whose most important asset lost value over the past few years is the leader of the free nation.

Well, taxpayers technically own the home at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue but maybe it will make a few feel better that the equity loss isn’t just in their own neighborhood.
According to real estate analysts at Zillow, the 132-room mansion’s value fell from $308 million in 2008 to $292.5 million in 2009.
