1. Purpose
The purpose with this document is to establish the responsibilities and authorities for Engineering Manager at AMC Centurion Beijing Co., Ltd. (ACB) and the interrelations with the antenna SBU globally.
2. Organization and Job Title
Engineering Manager reports to General Manager of AMC
3. Responsibilities
Develop, implement and follow-up the local CE ACB and global SBU strategies, objectives and metrics.
Execute CE -projects and perform technical sales and ramp-up activities for the global market..
Support Business Case Managers, Global and Key account managers in CE issues.
Build-up and maintain necessary R&D equipment and competence within CE and ME.
Manage the daily work within CE and ME efficiently and with adequate resources.
If needed, assist other staff in ACB with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
Report relevant information to functions of the global Antenna SBU, according to agreed requirements.
Produce a monthly report to the Global Antenna SBU and General Manager no later than the 3rd each month.
4. Authorities
All authorities imply that approved budget and Re-forecast is kept and that relevant procedures are followed
Advice S&M regarding technical sales activities.
Recruit, manage and develop staff for The R&D area
In co-operation with VP CE and GM, allocate necessary resources from functions within the global antenna SBU in order to fulfill the customer requirements in each CE project.
Purchase necessary equipment for R&D activities within approved budget for ACB.
Authorize applications for vacation or leave of absence, time reports, etc for staff at ACB in accordance with ACB personnel policy manual
Approve expenses and travel orders for staff of CE and ME, in accordance with ACB policies.
6. Specifications
1. Experience from Engineering management positions min 5 years – preferable in the mobile phone industry – competition and customers are OK but sometimes sensitive
2. Age is important so he must be senior min 35-year old and up
3. Msc Mechanical, RF, Materials or similar -
4. Experience from design for manufacturing – extreme mass production
5. 6 Sigma knowledge is a plus
