I am planning to go back to China for a couple of months in October and will return by the end of next March. I am thinking of sub-let my apartment (furnished) to someone you know who happens to need a temporary place for short term (6 months). The apartment is available immediately. It is perfect for couples, or it can be shared by two people. The landlord prefers Chinese.
Since I am renting it from a friend, this 650 sf one-bedroom apartment is priced below market at $2,000 a month. Cable and high speed internet is included. All you have to pay is rent and utilities. It is located on 96th street ( Upper East Side ) just off Lexington Avenue . Subway (6 train) is just across the street. Gym is next door. Central Park is three blocks away. The museum mile is within walking distance. I have pictures of the unfurnished apartment available and will forward if you want to take a look.
