otherwise i would tell people like this go and kiss my ass or go fuck herself....means no need to waste one more second on assholes like this
(you will never be able to work with such type and come out ahead)
but in your case, this is totally different because:
you are and you will be in hr, which is all about people skill
this tough cookie becomes your ideal practice target simple because
1) you will only need to put up with her for one year, then you will be on your way
2) if she is an ass hole, this should not be just to your knowledge, everyone in that company prior to your arrival should know. if you cannot handle her, no one will be surprised. if you actually handled her well, it is to your credit
either way you cannot lose
3) if you can overcome this, you will grow significantly out of this one year assignment and really be ready for your next shanghai job. look at her as your fast moving target that your practice you shooting with. can you really become a good shot? well here is the perfect target: try anyway you can, be as inventive as you can, to make asshole going into the direction designated by you. you may not have heard this, but there is such a thing called manage your own boss.
what you got to lose? quit now orleave the beijing assignment for shanghai a year later! get some hr drills done on her before you take on hr in shanghai
nothing to be depressed about, be happy you have the perfect target to practice with so even if you fuck up totally, you still have shanghai waiting for you. a person like must have built up the reputation long before your arrival. you are the only one just about to really find out
