Business is always business only. I have doubts about any thought which states to combine so called cultural values into businesses.
From Chinese intellectuals' values, Hu should contribute to his country, rather than IMF or GS. The intention that China government sent him to Harvard was to expect him to serve the country, instead of working for GS. Based on his experience, he never tried to do so.
The question is very simple. WHO'S HIS BOSS? There are not quite lots of Win-win deals, especially for investment banks.
