you have to understand whether or not you have the resource to reach the "critical mass". For most people, they don't have the time and money to climb over the learning curve.
It takes 4 years of study and $50K to get a college degree, which will qualify one for a job making $20K-$50K in America. How could one think he can build a money-machine with only $20K and a few month of work ? It wouldn't be fair, right ?
Setting up a McDonald costs more than 1 million dollars, if you spend $50K, you are not passing the "critical mass" and yon won't make money from the $50K that is taken away from you.
Same logic here for the investment/trading skill.
I think most of the prop shops are not cheating (but it could happen), they are just promoting a method that very likely is not suitable to you, yet suitable for them to make commission. Some people has the pychic mak-up for it, most don't. But without trying, how does one know ?
