1.
VC don't want to sign NDA (Non disclosure Agreement), that means in theory, they can talk with others about your idea; of course, VC are professional and they generally keep the secret.
2.
You only need to give enough technical information in your BPLAN, You don't need to detail howto (until later they ready to invest)
3.
When you have an idea, generally speaking, others smart people usually have similiar idea and also make BPLAN out of it.. So VC don't really think your idea is that unique.
On the other hand, if your idea is really unique, VC tend to avoid it.
WHat I heard is: when google asking for VC investment, there are several (maybe 6) similiar search engine company also asking for investment... VCs just don't know which one will be the winner.
