Senior NSS optimisation Engineer
Main purpose of the job
To provide advanced NSS optimisation and switch planning services to Nokia customers.
Qualifications and experience needed in this job
1. Excellent system knowledge (GSM, GPRS, IN, SS7 signaling)
2. SS7 troubleshooting and parameter tuning
3. SS7 protocol analyser (Nethawk / Tektronix K1205)
4. A-interface signaling analysis
5. Measurement and statistical tools: Traffica & Network Doctor
6. Signaling Planning / Dimensioning experience
7. Nokia NSS equipment (DX200 platform) and solutions
8. Presentation skills
Key responsibilities (in order of importance)
1. Provide NSS optimization services with the aim of improving network KPIs.
2. Promote the network planning services (NSS optimization is one of those services) to the customer in order to generate further planning sales. Creating an image of “value-adding switch network planning services”.
3. Provide detailed signalling network planning studies
4. Be flexible in terms of time availability and travelling
5. Provide competence transfer to Nokia switch planning engineers.
Key tasks of the job
1. NSS optimisation with a special focus on SMS, A-interface analysis, SS7 parameter settings and troubleshooting
2. Improve operator KPIs (long distance call connect rate, SMS delivery successful rate)
3. Provide detailed signalling network dimensioning for different scenarios based on the network assessment results. Provide detailed signalling network analysis and proposals.
5. Active participation to the external and internal meetings.
Hands-on experience of Nokia equipment is preferred. However, strong SS7 experience with equipment from other major wireless vendors are ok.
