A fabless semiconductor company that provides software and hardware products for designing semiconductors and electronic systems used in mobile and wireless devices, computer systems and networking equipment is currently looking to fill the following two positions:
China Country R&D Group Director
Responsible for all R&D sites in China and Taiwan (currently about 80 engineers).
Manages all operations and business issues impacting the developing engineering organization in Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan.
Oversees the development of managers and support infrastructure to build a strong organization.
Works to ensure the IP developed in country or transmitted into the country is secure, documented and patented as appropriate.
Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of relationships with Governmental agencies, senior officials, Universities and professors.
Works collaboratively with the engineering heads of the various Platform groups to ensure the right organizations establish a footprint in China based upon availability of talent in the right timeframe.
Interacts with WFO organizations to support their customer efforts as appropriate.
Ideally located in Shanghai but Beijing is a possibility.
Reports to VP Implementation Division.
Background:
EE or CS Engineering undergraduate. MBA or equivalent work experience preferred
Work experience in the EDA industry preferable, but semiconductor would be a plus.
5-7 years management experience
Working knowledge of doing business in China and of doing business in a US based company needed.
Fluent Mandarin and English
Sr. HR Manager for China R&D (based in Shanghai)
Responsible for all R&D sites in Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan. Solid generalist experience of 7-10 years including support of an R&D organization. Expertise in hiring, specifically knowledgeable of the China marketplace and University structure. Understanding the local practices and relationships needed to build an effective organization. Knowledge and experience in OD needed.
Experience in regional compensation and benefits, relocation and immigration issues. Will work with Corporate Comp/Bens to establish appropriate compensation practices and country-specific benefits plans.
Work experience in a multi-national company, particularly one home based in the US. Knowledge of US working style and communication needs are important in supporting the R&D organization.
Fluent in Mandarin and English. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience; Masters preferred.
