I guess it's like playing poker, you can only manage the hand the dealer deals to you, you can't go back to ask for a replacement card because you don't like the ones you have on hand.

In life, the only thing one can do is to make the best out of what one already has -- that includes innate talents as well as grow-up baggage. Will power is probably innate, while the subconscious probably belong to the grow-up process, either of which is already part of an existing personality.

Lacking will power in a person, is not unlike lacking certain physical traits e.g. prominent body height.

Even if I wish I were as tall as Yao Ming, there is most certainly no hope for me to achieve it.

I may not even be able to make more money than him, in the so many future years lying ahead of both of us -- he already did extremely well,didn't he? That's a hard target to beat

But that says nothing about whether it's possible for me to make my life no less fulfilling and satisfying to myself than his life to him --- that part is up to me. And as a matter of fact, I feel I certainly can. Does this make sense?

Anyway, just some random babbling, hope it might be obliquely helpful.
