Join our growing team as a Principal Scientist of Medicinal Chemistry for WuXi PharmaTech, a NYSE listed public company, based in Shanghai, China.
WuXi PharmaTech welcomes overseas Scientists to join us. This position is located at our Shanghai facility which is located in a state-of-the-art facility at the WaiGaoQiao Free Trade Zone. We are currently looking for a Principal Scientist to manage compound design, preparation, and optimization of small molecule drug candidates utilizing the modern tools of medicinal chemistry in lead optimization programs with our partner collaborations. The responsibilities include:.
Define chemistry project team objectives, timelines, and work plans
Advance programs in optimization campaigns to meet our partner’s program criteria
Use an integrated approach of modern medicinal chemistry, DMPK-ADME principles and biology considerations for advancing programs to milestones,
Identify and solve synthetic and medicinal chemistry hurdles in relation to the project
Provide internal medicinal chemistry expertise and mentorship,
Interface closely with chemistry, biology, DMPK-ADMET as well as with our partners
Articulate (verbally and written) chemistry team advances at appropriate project team meetings (and others as needed) and through written reports as necessary
This is an excellent opportunity to apply new technologies to drug discovery, to communicate with key scientists from the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, and to contribute to the common success of a new unit in a very dynamic working environment.
The qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry, 5-8 years of relevant experience including 1-3 years of overseas working experience. An outstanding publication record and great accomplishments in Medicinal Chemistry is necessary. Great problem solving ability and communication skill is a must-have quality.
