i contacted some departments including china custom. here is what i got so far. if you are an individual, regardless you are chinese citizen or us citizen, there is no way you could get car back to china. you have to be an employee who is sent back to work in chinese branch for a foreign company, also you have to get temp residence permit in china. also your company has to be registered in china custom. i don't understand what that meant yet and how to get that registration done.
basically, i gave up here. it seems that it could cost your tons of paper work and precise time to deal with this. anyway, forget it, buying a car in china would be considered a reasonable option here. good luck to everyone, thanks for you inputs here.
