First of all, making it into a top tier IB will be difficult, even for a position in HK.
The real question is are you willing to be a peon working your ass off and not get paid that much? We are talking about 80 to 100 hours a week. I am guessing you are around 30 already, its a HARD HARD life to be just starting at 30+. And if you don't get washed out in 3-4 years, you might make VP, that's still a long way from the top. Oh yeah, and you will have close to zero family life during that time.
If you already are doing well, this is a huge risk.
